I have been busy crafting these last few days but cant show any pictures as they are a gift and I am sure that the soon to be owner may have a peek at the blog. I am picking up new crafting skills but this is a very S-L-O-W process I am afraid. I would love to be very competent at sewing, knitting and crochet (I cant pick up crochet at all) but I find it extremely frustrating when my plans dont quite go as I had wanted. I have a drawer upstairs that is full of patterns for me to sew and a book full of knitting patterns but have no idea how to get started.
I am hoping that in a couple of weeks my Mother will have lots of time to come and give me afew sewing lessons (OK did you get the hint) and in payment for her time I promise her lots of kisses and cuddles from two of her grandchildren. What better payment could you ask for???? There are some things that money just cant buy!!!

I have also been trying to take pictures of the everyday happening at our house but my goodness I think that my life may be boring ! When I am thinking about what I can take a picture of I am really struggling as I sometimes think about why would anyone want to see such everyday things. Things like ironing, washing ,cleaning and the list goes on and on. It may be the time of year as we seem to spend much more time outdoors during the warmer months, but when it is so cold and miserable outside I feel very reluctant to actually be out.

COULD MAKE MORE EFFORT... Sounds like an old school report.!!!!

Hi Sarah, I'm enjoying your photos. And everyday means just that I guess. Not the exciting stuff that we sometimes do but the little things that make up our lives. Well done and keep at it!
I love your bedside table - so tidy. What are you reading?
Thanks for your well wishes. I'm feeling a lot better now and ready to launch myself into another week (well sort of!).
Good luck with the crafting. Bx

Catching up with you Sarah - and it's not boring at all hearing what's happening around the house. Guess we all have Winter doldrums somewhat, but as long as we get up and face the world and try to live a creative life, every day is meaningful.

Keep pushing on with your needlework skills - well worth it as nothing really beats a lovely handmade item crafted with love.

Hope your Mother has a fun visit - learn all you can from her - and yes, do shower her with kisses - you know how all we mothers enjoy that part!!

Have a great week.
Hugs - Mary.

hello sarah
i'm your valentine swap partner and i just want to say i know just how you feel. i've only just got the hang of crochet even though my sister taught me four or five times. i still can't increase or decrease. my knitting is wonky to say the least, but i managed to make a cardigan which is interesting?!. my sewing is a little haphazard but it's getting better day by day. but i really, really want to be creative, so i keep plodding away at it.
i love seeing the photos though - it's so nice to see how the other half of the world lives. it's a bizzare concept that we may be enduring 42C temperatures and you guys are freezing - and neither of us can really go outside and find it pleasant!
Okay, i've rambled enough I must cook tea again.
cheers
