Homemade Soup

We try as much as possible to buy some organic food. This does present its challenges as we live on the outside of a city and there is very little Farming community in the area, we have to travel to get to the farm shops. This is not too bad when you are perhaps going once a month and stocking up the freezer but it is not possible to go weekly to get fresh foods. We overcome this by growing our own over the summer months and then having to buy from the ghastly supermarkets. The organic food in the supermarkets it not only over priced it still comes in huge amounts of packaging and is not always the best quality. gggrrrr anyhow yesterday I bought a mixed bag of veggies, picked some leeks from the garden and this is what I came up with.

Roasting the vegetables
Organic Homemade Roasted Vegetable Soup.
YUMMY !!!!!!!

your soup looks very good! we eat tons of veg soup :o) quick & easy & sooo tasty.Have you looked to see if theres a veg box delivery scheme near to you?we have used Riverford for years now, hoping (sadly!) to drop them this summer as our kitchen garden & field plots should bring in more than enough(thats the plan lol!) but its meant getting a box every week=zero veg from the supers.Worth looking into

wow - the soup looks fantastic. right now it's a little too hot for soup. it just doesn't seem right to be eating soup, whilst sweating in the kitchen. by the end of summer i am so sick of the sight of salads! i try and be inventive, but after awhile you go through most of the recipes.
we've managed to grow a few veggies in the garden but we have fairly tight water restrictions so it means that a lot of our veggies have failed. we have managed to grow quite a bit of corn though!
how's your swap going? i thought i had heaps of time and the other day (yesterday) i realised IT'S ALREADY FEBRUARY! i think i better get moving.

Oh yummy! That looks delicious!!!

We haven't started gardening veggies yet since we moved into our new house, only flowers, but I hope to get started soon. I miss it! What do you have growing in your garden at present?

Love,
Malina
